Event Planner - Founder/CEO

I’m Luciana Deka, Founder and CEO of Starlight StarBright Events. At Starlight StarBright Events, we believe that things happen in their own time. Let me share with you my journey in becoming an event planner.

After receiving my BA in Architecture from UC Berkeley in 2000, I moved to Los Angeles, where I accepted a position working for a Santa Monica-based architecture firm, which became my second home for the next six years.

Once motherhood came calling, I embraced the job of raising my two amazing children (Monica and Cha) wholeheartedly!

I’m by nature an entertainer and a planner, but the idea of becoming an entrepreneur while raising two young children was a little daunting. While I waited for the right time, I polished my talents by planning events for family and friends.

As the kids got older, I decided it was time to return to work. I had the opportunity to teach at my children’s preschool in Brentwood for a year, then ventured back into the world of architecture and interior design before starting my own business.

My passion for creating beautiful, functional, and welcoming spaces for kids and adults to experience as individuals and as a community, along with my desire to apply my experiences, creativity, and talents to something that I’m passionate about, led me to launch Starlight StarBright Events!

Being able to finally take the leap to provide these services as a professional has been a dream come true! It is incredibly rewarding to see my clients’ reactions after I have transformed their spaces with a touch of whimsy, magic, and wonder!
